Role and Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity for an experienced and service-minded professional to work, learn and grow with a team of dedicated professional technicians whom serve the Ontario market in door automation service to our customers.

We require an individual who can demonstrate the ability to install automatic and sliding door operators, assemblies and associated electronic and mechanical hardware that is listed but not limited to the contents of this document.

Technicians are responsible to perform installations, service and preventative maintenance to automatic, manual and mechanical doors including all associated hardware and accessories. Maintain proper truck stock, inventory and maintain the company vehicle. Responsible for accurate and detailed billable work orders and time sheet detailing as per policy.

The Technician position will interface with the customer, end-user and general contractor on a regular basis and must present themselves in a courteous professional manner at all times. Continual and equal opportunity to participate in training programs offered in house and by manufacturers.

Technicians will be working in a fast paced environment that is physically demanding. Our installation and service team is fully mobile and all of our work is completed in existing commercial buildings and in new construction. The somewhat regular hours are 07:30h to 16:30h, however as a mobile technician you will be required to work evenings, weekends, and execute emergency calls to our clients. Adjusting our working hours to client’s retail hours and availability is a necessary accommodation for this role.

Overnight stay and travel should be expected from time to time to access service locations that are not within reasonable and/or safe travel distances. There is also the possibility of travel to other provinces for periods of time. Travel and work overnight in the Province of Ontario should be expected.

It is a requirement that the Technician has a proven and experienced ability with tools, installation and service.

A minimum lifting requirement of a minimum of 75 lbs on a regular daily basis is to be expected and it is understood the Technician is capable of this regular lifting. Additional requirements include loading and unloading shipments from vehicles and dispersing materials for installation throughout sites. Working efficiently and effectively onsite while professionally communicating with peers and clients to provide proper feedback and written documentation to the office.

INSIGHT – Be able to work cooperatively and communicate exceptionally well in both written and oral. Have the physical ability to continuously lift and bend, climb ladders, work on knees for extended periods of time. Be proficient at operating power tools. Fluency in English is a must. Two to four years’ experience in the Automatic Door industry or relevant industry experience of Glazing, Doors, Aluminum Frames, Glass, Automatic Doors, Door Hardware is a definite asset.

*OWN CORDLESS AND HAND TOOLS (corded tools supplied if necessary)
